The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas territory made up of three beautiful islands (Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac), flanked on all sides by the Western Caribbean Sea.
The diverse population of the Cayman Islands comprises of not only Caymanians, who are known for being family-oriented and loving, but also of a fair share of expat population, working in many sectors such as finance, legal firms, hospitality, tourism and other businesses. Hence Cayman is a true melting pot of diversity!
Nestled in this melting pot, the Indian diaspora has been eager to contribute to the betterment of society at large while retaining its unique Indian identity. The Indian Cayman Community was hence formed by capitalizing on the strength of the Indians, from all walks of life, who reside in and contribute to the Cayman Island,
From the first Diwali celebration by a few Indian families in Cayman in the year 1998, ICC has grown from strength to strength every year and has now become a registered NPO giving it the structure and stability it deserves and needs to continue doing phenomenal work in the Cayman community.
Not only does the ICC share a slice of Indian culture with the wider community, with its yearly Diwali celebration, it also involves itself in other social responsibilities like organising blood donation drives, sports events and garage sales— the proceeds of which go towards charities all over the island.
As we continue to uphold the principles of our rich Indian culture, which are deep rooted in peace, love and justice, while integrating with the Cayman community at large, we strive for a rich amalgamation of thoughts, words and action which will enrich our society.
To unite and support the Indian diaspora residing in the Cayman Islands while nurturing and sharing with the world, Indian cultural values which positively influence one and all.
